OUR APPROACH
Sustainable Development
In our opinion sustainability is a matter arising from
stakeholders and beneficiaries - in practice in the field. We favour
their inclusion in any development undertaking in earliest possible
phase. This calls for thorough participation beginning from
grass-root level up to the partner-government structures, and sufficient
institutional capacity. We want to give particular emphasize to the
issue of Institutional Development by addressing it separately in
our
Sectoral Development matrix. We recognize the
widely adopted principles of sustainable livelihood enhancement;
democratic and gender-sensitive approach combined with sound
environmental practices.
Poverty Reduction
Rural livelihood development is tied closely to Poverty
Reduction since 80%, or more of the poor people in developing countries,
are forced to make their living in rural environment. Economic viability
of the rural areas, enhanced by proper Poverty Reduction Strategies, is
an important cornerstone of sustainable development.
Performance and Quality
We apply the earliest- possible- phase- principle in our
work planning by engaging, from the very beginning, the person(s)
concerned to a certain assignment. In practice this means that the ones
having a role in a tender, or any other assignment, are responsible from
the early stage of preparation and drafting. This reduces overlapping,
ensures more efficient time management and guarantees a knowledgeable
interface in custom relations.
We believe that experience matters particularly in field
circumstances. Our wide field experience combined with the newly adopted
Poverty Reduction-approach will guarantee reliable field
performance.
We pay special attention to quality issues, and will
keep our quality standard commensurate with our experience. For rapid
primary control we have a written quality assurance check-list, based on
generic ISO Quality Assurance Standards. In addition to his own sphere
of work
one
member of our team has a particular responsibility on
Quality Management issues.
Our financial management quality is guaranteed by
sophisticated external services of accountancy and auditing. We comply
with, or exceed the Finnish statutory requirements. |
